Christine Hubbard - International Soprano.

Chris' studied music in South Wales under Madame 'Winnie' Lloyd where she began her career as a very young 'Yum Yum' in the Mikado, she achieved her LRAM(performer) and then BA Hons.,Wales at Cardiff. She belonged to the Resolven Operatic Society and the Morriston Aelwyd, often singing with the Morriston Orpheus.

Chris won the National Eisteddfod Lieder and Cud Adrodd prizes when only sixteen! She went on to be awarded the prestigious Madame Patti prize for song and the Kathleen Ferrier Prize.
During her career with the Welsh National Opera, she created many of the leading roles opposite well-known names such as Owen Brannigan and Geraint Evans, including Violetta (La Traviata), Mimi (La Bohème) and Tosca .

For many years Christine regularly travelled to Spain, where she did an annual spring concert in Fuengirola until the closure of the theatre. She has sung with the Warlock Singers. Her singing takes her all over the world, especially the U.S.A. and Europe. She has sung in San Francisco and several times in Rochester, New Hampshire, which she visited for the first time in May '98 with Roger Sayer in highly acclaimed concerts, which included the Schubert Mass in G and his "Shepherd on the Rock" (Schubert's work, particularly his Lieder, being one of her specialities). While in Rochester on this visit Christine was presented with the Freedom of The City (the only other recipient being President Clinton !). She has made many recordings and is working on several CD's at present.

She has on many occasions performed the iconic 'Rule Britannia' solo in Promenade Concerts. Christine has also performed in Canterbury Cathedral numerous times and on one occasion performed one of her own compositions.

In 2010 she sang in the prestigious Music festivals of Pembrokeshire and Gozo (Malta). She has performed for B.B.C. TV, Meridian TV and for Millenium7 TV (on Sky) and many times on Radio Kent. During Mozart's anniversary she received countless invitations to sing in celebration concerts etc. Christine was honoured to be invited by Sir Ian Blair to be the soloist in the annual Metropolitan Police Concert. She has appeared at The Barbican, London and will be singing at St. John's Smith Square, Wigmore Hall and the St. John Priory Church, Clerkenwell in the near future. There is also an invitation to Singapore by the Lieder Society for a recital tour.

This year, she also looks forward to singing in Christchurch, Dorset, Torquay, Bexleyheath and many other high profile concerts all over the country. Christine has invitations to sing in major music festivals in Bulgaria and Russia in 2013. She is also planning to sing for the president of Malta in the St John Co-Cathedral in Valetta.

She has the honour of being Chairman of the Medway Festival of Music, Speech and Drama. In 2006 she was elected to the Royal Society of Musicians of G.B. Christine is a member of the I.S.M. (Incorporated Society of Musicians) and was South Eastern Centre secretary for several years. She is also a member of the M.U., the A.O.T.O.S. (Association of Teachers of Singing), the Institute of Vocologists and The British Voice Association. Christine teaches regularly as well as performing. In addition she undertakes remedial work for the spoken & sung voice, eradicating dialects, lisps, stutters and other speech impediments.

She is in demand for Master Classes.
